Instrument Masterclass Days
Starting in 2025, Trinity Laban is delivering a series of occasional weekend events aimed at specific young instrumentalists.
Come and spend an intensive and FREE day of music-making at Trinity Laban’s historic site in Greenwich, led by expert tutors.
Each day will end in a performance for everyone involved. Staff and students will also be on hand to connect you to expert advice on auditions, applications, and careers.

Double Act: Clarinet & Sax Masterclass Day
Sunday 16 November 2025, 11am – 5pm
Trinity Laban, Old Royal Naval College, SE10 9JF
Join us at Trinity Laban for a FREE Clarinet & Sax Day, open to young musicians aged 11 – 18. Guided by our expert tutors – including Melanie Henry, Gerard McCrystal and Anthony Pike – the event will focus on developing specialist instrumental techniques for clarinet and saxophone, and in particular explore what it takes to become a multi-instrumentalist across both instruments.
For young clarinet and sax players already at an advanced level on their instrument – Grade 6 minimum, or equivalent – the day is an opportunity to push your playing to the next level alongside like-minded young musicians, and to pick-up guidance on auditions, applications, and careers pathways along the way. For less experienced young musicians – Grade 2-3 minimum, or equivalent – you can take part in a dedicated afternoon workshop. Everyone will join together at the end of the day to hear and share performances.
To apply, individuals should complete our online booking form with a parent, giving us details about your experience to help us allocate you to one of the 2 strands. To enquire about bringing a group from a school or other setting, please email d.nairn@trinitylaban.ac.uk.
