We opened the doors of our RIBA Stirling Prize-winning Laban Building this week, welcoming people from across Lewisham’s creative sector to talk with Lewisham North MP Vicky Foxcroft about current issues, hopes, challenges and opportunities.
Participants shared their thoughts on a range of topics from AI to arts education, with views heard across literature, design, filmmaking, music, dance, craft and much more.
Principal Anthony Bowne says: “I am heartened that the Creative Industries make up a key part of the Labour government’s Industrial strategy, and that our Lewisham MP Vicky Foxcroft is so visibly supporting our sector. Vicky clearly recognises the value that we collectively bring to Lewisham North and her support is vital at both a local and national level.
At Trinity Laban, we believe that arts, culture and creativity should be accessible to all people in Lewisham and beyond. In fact, we believe that they are the backbone of wellbeing, of opportunity, of community and of life. The chance to share conversation with our colleagues this week and be a hub for sharing and ideas was one that we could not miss.”
