The 2025 Mercers' Award winners stand at the top of some steps.

Mercers’ Award launched to support postgraduate innovation at Trinity Laban

We are delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new postgraduate award at Trinity Laban, made possible through the generous support of the Mercers’ Charitable Foundation.

The Mercers’ Award will provide our final-year postgraduate music students with vital support to realise bold and innovative projects. Each year, at least two students will be awarded £4,500 in funding alongside bespoke mentoring, enabling them to develop career-defining ideas that will enrich cultural life, strengthen the UK economy, and create a positive impact in communities.

As part of our flagship Innovation Awards, the new Mercers’ Award reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists and cultural leaders, giving them the tools and confidence to thrive in today’s fast-moving creative industries.

Speaking about the initiative, the Mercers’ Company, trustee of the Mercers’ Charitable Foundation, commented: “The Mercers’ Company as trustee of the Mercers’ Charitable Foundation is delighted to support Trinity Laban’s Innovation Awards as part of our Heritage & Arts programme. These awards provide vital professional development support to postgraduate students as they establish themselves within a fast-growing and vibrant sector of the UK economy.”

We are proud to partner with the Mercers’ Charitable Foundation on this exciting new award, which expands the opportunities available to our students as they take their first steps into professional careers.

This year’s Mercers’ Award winners are Taraneh Forouzan, Gilad Barabi, and VidaNova (pictured above). You can find out more about them here.
